Day 1 The Lent Project

The gauntlet has been tossed. My sister, who blogs over at Capricious Cogitation*, wrote "I was talking to someone who said that she ought to take more pictures AND that she really enjoyed last Lent's project. So I threw down the gauntlet and challenged her to do her own Photos for Lent project." The "she" in that quote would have been me.

So, I've taken up the gauntlet. There's no theme here, really. Well, there is sort of a theme, I suppose. I've been going through old photographs, about 10 years worth. I've tossed out a lot of them and want to scan others before tossing them out. The pictures I'll be posting will be some of those scans.

Before you say anything, sumonesmom, I know it isn't taking the pictures on a daily basis, but these are pictures I've not shared with anyone, generally speaking. It's a job that needs to get done and this is a good way of tackling the (small) mountain of pictures.

And so.... Day 1. I don't remember the name of the lighthouse, but it's on Vancouver Island, taken on a trip more than 10 years ago. I'm glad I found this picture; it's one of my favourites.

But What Is It?

I have no idea what this plant is, but it's definitely interesting.

Oh Deer!

We're stepping into the time machine and going backwards. In other words, I've been going through old photographs, scanning the ones I think are worthy of a photo blog and tossing out those that aren't. Enjoy.

I'm Back

With a new scanner (the old one is dead), I can again upload pictures that have been in storage for years.

A former boyfriend and I used to drive up to Wells Gray Park quite often, hiking to a variety of waterfalls in the park. One day, I spotted these fungi growing in the undergrowth beside the path. I have no idea what they are, but I found them fascinating.
